مكّنها Empower Her
Economic independence for women
Launched in November 2023 at the first event that brought Better Together members together in person, to support women who run small and medium businesses and train them in entrepreneurship.
Makkinha (Empower Her) launched in November 2023 with our Vision Board event, the first time Better Together members met in person. It came after a full year of conversation in a Facebook group of more than twenty thousand women.
It aims to strengthen women’s economic independence by:
- Giving technical and expert support to women who run small and medium businesses.
- Running dedicated workshops and training in entrepreneurship.
- Opening up chances for women entrepreneurs to meet each other and the organisations that support them.
Through Empower Her we have worked with partners such as Miswag, Fedshi, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and GIZ, and held Better Together’s first event outside Baghdad, in Mosul.
